The Sewing Basket

This collection of textile gifts comprises of lavender filled mini cushions and hanging heart decorations. The lavender has been harvested from plants in my garden at Heartsease Cottage or sourced from the Provence region in France. Both cushions and hearts are made using good quality cotton/linen mix fabric or silk dupion for added luxury. They are decorated with transfer printed floral motifs. The images are taken from a collection of silk embroideries that I inherited from an uncle in law. These beautiful embroidered motifs are called Kensitas Flowers and in the past were inserted in packets of cigarettes.
